Matcha ice cream recipes to sweeten your day!

The matcha has many dimensions, Kyoto’s matcha is its versatility in preparing delicious sweet recipes. Bring a little bit of Kyoto to your table by cooking these quick, easy to make ice creams that use matcha as a base ingredient!

Classic Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon of powdered matcha green tea.

• 1/3 cup of warm water.

• 1 cup of milk, whole or skimmed.

• 2 cups of whipping cream.

• 3/4 cups of white sugar.

• Two eggs.

Preparation:

• Add the powdered matcha into a recipient and pour the warm water.

• Whisk with a rapid wrist movement until there are no lumps.

• Add the milk gradually to the dissolved green tea and whisk while pouring.

• Mix the whipping cream and the matcha blend in a pot.

• Cook the mixture in a medium to low heat, stirring continuously until the mixture is uniformly heated.

• Whisk the sugar and the eggs together in a bowl until they are completely mixed.

• Pour 1/2 cup of the hot matcha combination into the sugar and eggs mixture, thoroughly mix until it is uniformly blended. Repeat until all the remaining of the matcha mixture is completely blended.

• Cook the mixture over low-medium heat until it is completely heated.

• Let the mixture cool at room temperature.

• Pour into ice cream cups and freeze.

Matcha Green Tea Coconut Ice Cream

Ingredients:

• 14 ounces of coconut milk.

• 2 cups of heavy cream.

• 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk.

• 2 tablespoons of powdered matcha green tea.

• 1/3 cup of warm water.

• ¼ cup of granulated sugar.

• Toasted almonds.

Preparation:

• Add the matcha green powder and the warm water in a bowl. Whisk until there are no tea lumps.

• Slowly pour the coconut milk into the mix, constantly whisk while pouring.

• Add the milk in a pot and heat in low to medium heat until the blend is uniformly warm.

• While heating, add the heavy cream and mix until it is uniformly blended.

• While cooking, add the condensed milk and mix until it is evenly blended.

• While heating, add the sugar and mix until it is uniformly mixed.

• Cool at room temperature.

• Pour the mixture in ice cream containers and freeze for 3 hours before serving.

• Add almonds as a topping if you wish.
